Blue Heron is a beautiful 30-acre greenspace nestled in a busy urban environment in north Atlanta. At Blue Heron, you will find wildlife, artwork, and a community garden. It is also home to the Blueway Trail, a 3-mile hiking trail that guides you through wetlands and meadows. The virtual tour will help you learn more about the natural history of the area and help you plan a trip to this hidden gem. Also, Blue Heron is one of 10 Atlanta area greenspaces that is part of the Hikes for Health Challenge. The Challenge is a great way to explore beloved trails as part of a prescription for better physical and mental health and a stronger life.
REI has joined forces with 10 Atlanta-area organizations and Kaiser Permanente to encourage the public to hike, walk, or jog 10 trails in their 10 greenspaces over the next 10 months with the Hikes for Health Challenge. The Challenge, which launched in August during National Wellness Month, is a great way to explore beloved trails as part of a prescription for better physical and mental health and a stronger life.
